What can we say, glory glory Na Piarsaigh Rebel Og U15 Premier 1 Football Champions to give them their full title. An epic battle between two very good teams. A great team performance and it definitely helped to have such a formidable forward in Luke Hurley who scored a massive 2-8. After 15 minutes we found ourselves 1-3 to 0-1 down but we never panicked and played our game and kicked over the points and after 24 minutes it was 1-5 to 0-3 . Just before the break we rattled off 1-3 a goal by Sean O Callaghan with a brilliant point by Luke Hurley leaving it all square at half time 1-6 a piece. On the resumption it was point for point before Luke Hurley was awarded a penalty for being fouled in the box he stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way it was now 2-7 to 1-8 after 36 minutes. Ballincollig's response to the goal was three unanswered points as they nudged in front 1-11 to 2-7. But we put together three points on the trot, two from Luke and a free from Craig O Sullivan we led 2-10 to 1-11 after 47 minutes. Again Ballincollig levelled up proceedings with six minutes remaining, they wouldn't score again as we added on a further 1-2, Luke scoring his second goal. The full time whistle was greeted by jubilant scenes of celebration. Well done to all players and a special mention to the coach and selectors who have done a great job with this team in both hurling and football. Good times ahead.
